What should you incorporate into your product packaging? Must you equip your product with tactile warnings of danger or with a child-resistant fastening? Labelling a product and its packaging is an extensive task. If one markets chemical products, then there are, far-reaching labelling obligations from GHS/CLP or special statutory regulations such as, for example, for cosmetic products, biocides or washing and cleaning agents.
One must clarify the extent of the information, placement and (font) size of the various labels, the right labelling for all intermediate packaging and repackaging, and the requirements that apply to sales and transport packaging. And also the applicability of possible packaging simplifications and compilation of information for one’s online shop.
There is much room for error here. This is why we generally recommend that you have the product labelling and packaging checked extensively before production begins, namely before the inspection authorities do this for you during their market visits.
